Real Menopause Therapy

In 2021, a survey showed that over 90% of women felt Menopause symptoms were having a negative impact on their performance and attendance at work but they were too afraid to tell anyone or seek help.

Symptoms may last for several years and can include anxiety, reduced concentration, sleep disturbances, brain fog, hot flashes and heavy periods – all of which can be both physically and emotionally distressing. The psychological effects can also impact relationships at home and at work.

When organisations treat Menopause as they would any other health issue, they are breaking the stigma and taboo that remains and creating an inclusive environment where employees and managers feel able to discuss any reasonable adjustments that may be needed.

Evidence shows that, where women receive understanding and help from management, it is greatly valued and enables them to continue working well and productively (Griffiths et al 2010). Offering employees the option of talking to a professional who is qualified in Menopause support demonstrates taking Menopause seriously and treating it as a person management issue of high importance.

Please note
While I predominantly talk about women in relation to Menopause, I recognise that it can impact some transgender and non-binary people who will require support and flexibility relevant to their needs.

Therapy for Menopause goes even broader than mental health; it can reduce negative reactions to hot flashes and put you back in control, helping you feel more able to cope overall.

Subscriptions vary from an individual to an organisation, from unlimited to a capped number of sessions.

TESTIMONIAL

“Therapy has helped me accept and adapt to the psychological and emotional changes that so many of us experience during Menopause. I am getting back to ‘me’ again.”

*Offering your co-workers that extra boost of support, shows you and your organisation really care.

It is estimated that 14million days a year in the UK alone are lost to Menopause symptoms.

The most commonly cited are anxiety, brain fog and sleep disturbances.

I am so proud of this addition to Real Menopause Talk. Therapy has helped me and many members of my family and friends through some really tough times. The mind-body connection is real and I still find it remarkable how talking therapy can make a person feel lighter, brighter and even able to stand up taller.
